Hybrid cars are vehicles that rely on two different sources of energy, usually electricity and gasoline, instead of just one, gasoline, that is the case of conventional cars.

Hybrid vehicles nowadays come in all shapes and sizes. Hybrid cars being much cheaper to operate than conventional vehicles and their usage being encouraged with so many incentives, many car makers have broadened and are continuously broadening their palette of products, offering their most popular models in hybrid version as well, so whatever size or design you are looking for, you can surely find the hybrid model that appeals to you.
In terms of the hybrid technology used, popular hybrid models use one of the following three solutions:
- Full-hybrid technology – the most energy-efficient and the sturdiest of all solutions, full-hybrid appliances use an electric motor and an internal combustion engine to power the vehicle either separately or in synergy.
- Mild hybrids – these solutions use compact electric motors for auto-stop and start features and to assist during acceleration and deceleration as well.
- Plug-in hybrids – these solutions improve the features of full-hybrid solutions by adding larger hybrid car batteries to allow the vehicle to run in full-electric mode for about 15 miles on one charge.
